Sheila R. Benson
Sheila R. Benson is a Bicentennial baby. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut on July 4, 1976. After graduating from Colorado State University in 1997 she moved to Oklahoma to pursue her passion for the law and “helping the little guy”. Ms. Benson graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2001 and was admitted to Oklahoma Bar in the same year. She was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2007. She is licensed to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the United States District Courts of the Northern, Western and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma as well as all state courts in Oklahoma and Texas. Ms. Benson is a member of the Oklahoma County Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, Oklahoma Association of Defense Counsel, Texas Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Ms. Benson practices in the areas of general civil litigation, product liability, insurance law, dram shop liability and personal injury. She provides dispute resolution and litigation services including trial and appellate representation to a wide variety of corporate and individual clients. Ms. Benson has extensive experience and specialization defending insurers against allegations of bad faith including institutional issues and multi-district litigation involving all lines of business. Ms. Benson also has extensive experience and history providing policy interpretation, analysis and opinions to numerous insurers on a wide spectrum of issues.
In her time away from work, Ms. Benson enjoys spending time with daughter, Addison, family, friends and her three dogs, Henry, Rogue and Sydney. Ms. Benson also enjoys skiing, snowboarding, bicycling, competing in Duathlons and green chile dishes.
